Check your CV against a Ghana job advert: free word check

Paste the advert and your CV. You'll see which of the advert's main words your CV already uses and which it doesn't, so you know what to fix before you apply.

This tool runs only in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. No signup.

Paste both texts to see which words from the advert your CV has and which it doesn't.

Say an accounts assistant advert asks for reconciliation, PAYE returns, QuickBooks and an ICAG part qualification, and your CV says only that you helped in the accounts office. The tool will list those four as missing. If you've really done them, write them in, using the same words. If you haven't, you know what to raise honestly in your letter, or that this job may not be for you.

Why do the exact words matter?

A busy reader scans your CV for the words in the advert, and an application system may search for them too. If you did bank reconciliations and your CV says handled finance matters, you can be passed over for work you actually know.

Is there a pass mark?

No. We don't give a score, because nobody outside the employer knows how a CV is judged, and a number here would be made up. The tool only tells you how many main words it found. It isn't a prediction of whether you'll be called.

How do I use the missing words honestly?

Go through the list one word at a time and ask whether you've done that thing. If yes, add it to the job where you did it, with a real example. If no, leave it out. An interviewer will ask about whatever is on the page, and anything false can cost you the job later.

Which adverts should I paste?

Use the full advert from the employer's own site where you can, because a forwarded poster often leaves out the duties. Our job pages link to the original advert. Check that the job is real before you send any documents.

Questions people ask

Does the tool store my CV?

No. The text stays in the page while you use it and it's gone when you close the page. Nothing is sent to us.

Can it check a CV in PDF?

Copy the text from your PDF and paste it in. The tool reads words, not files.

Will it find words like C++ or Node.js?

Yes. It keeps words with symbols and also looks for two-word skills such as tax returns.
